Former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter, has emerged a leading contender for the managerial position at Napoli.
Having rejected offers from Rangers and Lyon, Potter has remained patient in his search for the right opportunity to return to coaching after a forgettable stint at Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Napoli who secured their first Serie A title in 33 years under Luciano Spalletti, appointed Rudi Garcia as their manager following Spalletti’s departure to lead the Italian national team.
However, Garcia’s tenure has been marred with inconsistencies, with Napoli currently sitting fifth in the league, with seven points behind league leaders AC Milan. Their poor Champions League stats this season have also raised concerns.
Pressure is now mounting on Garcia, with reports suggesting that some of his players are uncomfortable with his coaching style.
The current situation has led to talks about a possible change of hands in the club’s managerial staff, opening the door for Graham Potter, who has now emerged as a top candidate for the job.
Antonio Conte, another former Chelsea boss, is also in the picture, along with Igor Tudor and former River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo.
