Seasoned Nigerian actor, Saidi Balogun says movie producers have stopped offering movie roles to those like him that declared support for President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He made the disclosure in an interview with The Punch, adding that the filmmakers belong to the opposition which is why they’ve refused to call him to star in their films ever since he became an APC member.
According to the Yoruba movie star, the faces heavy backlash and he prays that what people are criticising him for favours him in the end.
Saidi, who is also the assistant spokesperson of the Performing and Creative Art Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, said he supported Tinubu in the run-up to the 2023 election because he saw him as someone that could move Nigeria forward.
He said; “We get a lot of backlash. As a matter of fact, some producers no longer call us for work, because they belong to the opposition. But, before I came into the ‘war’, I was prepared.
“I only pray that what they are blasting me for would be fruitful to me and the people too. We did it for a purpose. I saw that this person (Tinubu) could help move the country forward.”

A Nigerian entrepreneur has revealed that he made a U-turn about offering assistance to someone after discovering he’s an APC supporter.
The man known as Jack said the person wanted to start a cab business, so he was looking for someone to stand as a guarantor for him while he obtains the vehicle.
He initially agreed to use his company as a guarantee, but later changed his mind after finding out the guy supports the All Progressives Congress and voted for President Bola Tinubu.
Jack, who shared this on Twitter, revealed that he saw the applicant wearing a signature Asiwaju cap and that did not sit well with him.
He tweeted; “So one guy knew when I had a bet shop a few years ago came to me to ask that I help him secure a vehicle (he want to use for bolt) and I accepted to guarantee him using my company. This evening I saw the guy with Asiwaju cap???? Apparently he voted for the…and wants me.. …Jack to guarantee him? ????????
I have not stopped laughing because he will soon come for me to sign the papers ???????? I won’t talk! The kind review I will give him eheeee even the person that want to give him the car will lock him up. Nonsense”

Wahala sha be una done see sideffect of voting for tinubu now sufferness done come
Its a pity that some people would still reason like jack and refuse to help a fellow human being bcos he voted for tinubu. Would you disown your child if he supported tinubu? If you’re in a position to help and you dont, what goes around comes round. As for Saheed, you shouldn’t be surprised, afterall you’re not new in naija. Pray for your own job to come.
Then what is your own gain in another person downfall
… Then, why are you now lamenting and crying for sympathy or declaring it’s a foul game since producers have decided not to give you both jobs anymore for the roles you played supporting the emergence of Tinubu’s government, Now seeing that your collective actions have put Nigeria in a sorry state it is also good that you are in that same sorry state together with everyone or let the APC government give you both jobs to do. Its better you feel more of the pains Nigerians are feeling right now
No be lie oh
Na nigeria we dey sha, u better shine ur eyes o
politics don cloud everywhere for naija so wetin u expect
sir i think u may decide to change to favour u
wat do u expect in naija wey corruption na our surname
just continue sir and don’t let your guard down
This is their choice
There’s no way it supposed to affect business
Someone’s choice of association should not be the critarium for giving them job. It part of their human rights to choose whom they support.
