A Nigerian man has turned to social media to seek advice as he faces a crucial decision from his rich father after diligently serving as an apprentice.
The young man finds himself at a crossroads, contemplating whether to opt for an overseas opportunity or embark on a business venture as a settlement.
The young man, who identity remains undisclosed, completed a two-year apprenticeship under his father’s mentorship, a period presumably spent acquiring skills in a trade.
The wealthy father, recognizing the dedication and commitment of his son, has given him the option of either being sponsored abroad to seek new opportunities or receiving a 40 feet container loaded with plumbing materials to initiate an independent business venture.
The confused man took to social media to seek advice on which of the options he should choose, especially considering the economic situation in Nigeria.
“After serving my dad for 2yrs after school, he asked me to choose between a 40 feet container of plumbing materials or for him to sponsor me to relocate to another country to find my akaraka and I don think tire. With the way 9ja be, will a new business survive? What do you think?” he wrote.
Netizens Reactions…
@DreadHound0 commented; “Leave Nigeria If you choose a good country, enter there legitimately and work hard without losing focus, you will be shipping multiple of that container your dad wants to give you in a few years. The naira is worthless currently with no hope of ever bouncing back. Choose wisely.”
@chii_ogbu said; “There’s Certain decisions in life that nobody can make it for you. Ask yourself what you want in the long run.”
@deraokoli5 said; “I sell building materials and I know the economy is not so good, but look at the brighter side. 40 feet container of plumbing materials is 40-60m ) depending on the country of importation). Your dad already has a platform, you served him for 2 years in which I believe you would.”
@Phatgold said; “Life is not all about money. For me, I prefer more security to life of myself and my family, and security of my business. Unfortunately, Nigeria cannot offer me the security that I need. If I was in your shoes, I will leave. It’s my opinion though.”
@nwa_anambra said; “40 feet of plumbing container? Guy Kwechiri ooo. Do relocate to anywhere if what you are going there to do is not well defined and clear in your head. 40 ft of plumbing in not moi moi.”
@iam_samedoho said; “Stay and sell plumbing material. Also, get trained as a plumber. Within two years, start training people to become plumbers. If you know what you’re doing, you’ll turn the business into a multimillion-dollar business. 7 in 10 houses in Nigeria have plumbing issues.”
@Chukwubueze_1 said; “Tough one though. Although the bad economy is hitting businesses, but it’s all about trying. Take the 40ft and do your best “if you understand the business well”, but if you don’t understand it, relocate.”

I would say you choose what you think is best for you but for me I think you should stay in Nigeria and invest in a business, learn from veterans and imitate them.
Oga go to abroad it will be better if i see anyone that would sponsper me i no go waste time ur father have the moni to fund u
My dear brother carry your bags and run from nigeria,do you need a front seer to tell you first, you are thinking, what are you thinking?,go to abroad and enjoy your life okay?
Is better you go to abroad and hustle, than starting business in Nigeria, coz Nigeria economy will spoil the business for you
It’s ok to do business locally as the benefits go beyond yourself but within the country. This also helps to improve on employment and contributing to the national wealth

bro i know everybody needs advice but all the advice offer won’t be satiable so it is in your place to think
It’s a simple thing at least you know what you are good at best
My brother start your business because a man will stay in USA and still be useless, so i choose business for you
Your dad should be generous enough to give you opportunity both here and overseas, given that you served him diligently. There should be no reservations as to what he can do for you.
Going abroad to do what?
Staying in Nigeria to do what type of business?
I think you should tell yourself what you really want at this point.
My dear I think you are in a good position to choose for yourself the one you want most
Bros my advice to you is to stay and maintain your father business, aspa iam concine
He should be able to know what are the pros and cons of both choices. He should just go with the choice that favors him more.
Do better business in Nigeria is lucrative, travel abroad is also good but before you do anything study the people around you to know if they truly need your progress or not, if they don’t my brother fry away and never come back.
