The Independent National Electoral Commission has said that its office in Lokoja, Kogi, on Wednesday, November 29, came under siege by a mob.
Kogi Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Hale Gabriel Longpet, said the mob prevented its staff and lawyers involved in the recent off cycle election in the state from inspecting materials used for the exercise.
The statement read;
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kogi State wishes to inform the public that the State Headquarters in Lokoja was besieged this morning by a mob that barricaded all entrances to the office and prevented access to staff to carry out routine duties.
“The siege also prevented Attorneys representing political parties involved in the recent off-cycle governorship election from inspecting documents/materials used in the election.
“It took the intervention of the Nigerian Army to calm the situation down at the State Headquarters. The security agencies have assured us that they will maintain normalcy on our premises.
“We assure all parties and litigants that the Kogi State office is committed to granting unimpeded access to all materials needed to prosecute their petitions”.

You know what politician is? They are jealous. They do not want to lose vote. That is why they send mobs to siege INCE to stop other people to inspect materials on vote.
Yes,that is because inec sometimes disappointed the electorate’s,and its very annoying for inec to behave like that.some of the inec staffs are bais,they can change results to favours who gave them money
Why wouldn’t such happen, when INEC have decided to be partisan instead of independent.
Until INEC go back to it’s primary purpose, it will continue to receive backlash from the citizens.
Problem sha no dey stopped for government office, government dey sue government wahala, abi inec no be government get am ni
Why will I risk my life for someone who only cares about his pocket? Those politicians are not worth my efforts. Security agents should do their job.
