Following the mysterious death of Mohbad and the ongoing investigation to uncover the cause of his death, the management of a radio broadcast station, Splash FM 105.5 in Ibadan, Oyo State, has implemented a ban on broadcasting songs by Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, on the station.

A presenter at the radio station, Aderonke Adesola, disclosed this in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter).

In the internal memo, the management of Splash FM cited the ongoing police inquiry into Mohbad’s death as the reason behind the ban.

The memo urged staff members to exercise discretion due to the sensitive nature of Mohbad’s death and the criminal investigation.

It stated that Naira Marley’s songs are now classified as “Not to be Broadcast” on their station until further notice, effective immediately.

The post read, “Good evening team. In view of the sensitive nature around the death of Mohbad and the criminal procedure, the police have commenced, I will urge us all to exercise discretion.

“To this effect, Naira Marley’s songs have become NTBB ( not to be broadcast) on our station till further notice. This is with immediate effect. Thank you.”

Naira Marley has been embroiled in controversy following Mohbad’s sudden death at 27.

The talented singer died a year after his controversial split from the record label owned by singer Naira Marley, due to an internal dispute and allegations of assaults.
