Tuface fondly reflects on memories with Sound Sultan

BREAKING NEWS: Two years after the passing of Afrobeats star Sound Sultan, his close friend and colleague Tuface expresses ongoing pain and emotional distress.

In an exclusive interview on Afrobeats Podcast with Adesola, Tuface opened up about the impact of Sound Sultan’s death on him. The African Queen crooner became emotional as he described Sound Sultan as one of the kindest individuals he had ever known.

During the interview, Tuface admitted that it took him a considerable amount of time to come to terms with the fact that Sound Sultan was no longer with them. Initially, he thought it was a joke when he first heard the tragic news.

Furthermore, Tuface revealed that Sound Sultan’s cancer diagnosis came late and was initially mistaken for malaria after tests were conducted in Nigeria. He did not elaborate on the details but expressed his reluctance to delve into the matter.

Sound Sultan, whose real name is Lanre Fasasi, passed away on July 11, 2021, at the age of 44. He had been battling with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of cancer.

The untimely loss of Sound Sultan continues to deeply affect the music industry and fans worldwide. Tuface’s heartfelt words serve as a reminder of the lasting impact that Sound Sultan had on the Nigerian music scene and beyond.
